Libby, a freelance writer and marketing professional, started BestofSanibelCaptiva.com over 10 years ago. Created to promote the destination she loved, the web site grew in popularity with local businesses as well as visitors. In 2004, a message board was added and this popular interactive feature is now the "addiction" of many island visitors, world-wide, who go there for their Daily Island Fix. McMillan continues to oversee the site, with the able assistance of associate Kimberly Brock. McMillan also writes for numerous regional publications. Michael, known for many years as Capt. Mike, was an instrumental part of the hospitality shown to guests at the former South Seas Plantation. For a decade, he owned the resort's sailing charter business - Adventure Sailing - during which time he met countless families who love the islands as much as he does. After selling that business, Mike was made On-Site Property Manager at the 57-home community of Sunset Captiva on his beloved island, where he continued to use his public relations, hospitality and trouble-shooting skills. Today Mike performs a solo guitar act for local restaurants and special events, as Michael David while managing Info-To-Go Brochure Distribution (the other family business) and consulting on BestofSanibelCaptiva.com.  Many local businesses can be found on both the web site and the Info-To-Go brochure displays across the islands.

Kimberly Brock is the glue that holds the message board and the web site together. A longtime and frequent visitor to Sanibel and Captiva Islands (with an eye to moving here in the not-too-distant-future), Kim is a former Physician's Assistant who specialized in Internal Medicine while also running a surgical practice. She happily retired from medicine in order to raise a family. Hurricane Charley had a silver lining that blew Kim and the McMillans together, giving her the opportunity to combine her research and organizational skills with her love and knowledge of the Islands. Together, Brock and the McMillans have proven to be a winning combination that has allowed the BestofSanibelCaptiva.com Message Board and site to continue to grow and flourish.

Our team is rounded out by the high-profile Sanibel ad agency Paradise Advertising & Design, owned by Katrina Salokar and Dan Beltz. They represent BestofSanibelCaptiva.com to their many accounts, and also consult on ideas to continually improve the site and help the destination's economy and worldwide reputation.
