Meet the people behind the Best of Sanibel Captiva!
Kimberly Brock draws on her 35+ year love affair with Sanibel and Captiva Islands to not only oversee the BestofSanibelCaptiva.com (BOSC) web site and popular Message Board, but also in her work with Sanibel ad agency Paradise Advertising & Design. A former Physician's Assistant who happily retired to raise a family, Kim was Hurricane Charley's silver lining blowing her to BOSC and giving her the opportunity to combine her knowledge of the Islands with her administrative skills. Together, Brock and the McMillans (below) have proven to be a winning combination that has allowed this site to not only grow, but flourish.
Libby Boren McMillan, a travel editor, freelance writer and marketing professional, started BestofSanibelCaptiva.com over 10 years ago. Created to promote the destination she loved, the web site continues to grow in popularity with local businesses as well as visitors. In 2004, a Message Board was added and quickly became an 'addiction' to the many island visitors, world-wide, who go there for their Daily Island Fix. Michael McMillan, known for many years as Capt. Mike, was an instrumental part of the hospitality shown to guests at the former South Seas Plantation. For a decade, he owned the resort's sailing charter business - Adventure Sailing - where he met countless families who love the islands as much as he does. After selling that business, he was made On-Site Property Manager of Sunset Captiva where he continued to use his public relations, hospitality and trouble-shooting skills. Today Mike has a successful solo guitar act, Michael David Music, where he performs for local restaurants and special events while consulting on BOSC.
Our team is rounded out by the high-profile Sanibel ad agency, Paradise Advertising & Design. They represent BestofSanibelCaptiva.com to their many clients, and also consult on ideas to continually improve the site and help the destination's economy and worldwide reputation.
