The story of these inventive men, who were friends and neighbors, makes for an entertaining morning or afternoon. Like sports? Ft. Myers' new Skatium complex offers inline skating, while Germain Arena, home to the Florida Everblades pro hockey team, also has public ice and inline skating. Visitors with good timing will also have access to baseball games at Spring Training facilities of the Minnesota Twins and Boston Red Sox. The Fort Myers Miracle also plays at the Lee County Sports complex. Nearby Bonita Springs has professional dog-racing; several gambling cruises are also based in the area.
